He performed complicated surgeries, like cataract, artificial limbs, fractures, urinary stones and even plastic surgeries and also brain surgery. Sushruta was an author. He wrote the book ‘Sushruta Samhita’. In this book, he described over 120 surgical instruments, 300 surgical procedures and classified human surgery in eight categories.
